Electronic Speed Sign in front of Elementary School

I’ve been working with Traffic Engineering since early September regarding getting another additional electronic speed sign back up in front of the school. The request was quickly approved mostly because of the school and our children walking to & from school. Thank you to COH Traffic Engineering team! I am happy to say they have installed the new sign.

We now have 3 electronic speed signs in our neighborhood. 2 on the Boulevard and 1 on Nolen. This is not common and most neighborhoods don’t even have one electronic sign.

I believe they positioned the new one (one direction only since the other one is just down the street) so that the motorcyclist could see their speed, in HOPE that they will slow down. They are aware of the motorcyclist issues. Everyone is aware of this problem. It’s honestly an issue throughout the city.

Your Board is hard at work trying to help make multiple improvements and solve some longstanding issues within our community. As with anything, it is all a long process to get things approved and resolved. We are trying. Please be patience with us as we try to work with the City and the Utilities. We have lots of great ideas and things we hope to accomplish for our community.
